Greetings folks! Yesterday I introduced to some friends and colleagues to my new fantasy table top game Grimoire Quest. We had a lot of fun (and a few arguments ha) All in all I got a lot of very helpful feedback and suggestions. I have a lot of heavy work ahead of me to make some crucial changes that I think will really simplify and speed up game play. That said, I didn't get a change to speak with everyone who attended. Below is a temporary survey form with a few questions. The responses will be anonymous
Hello folks, Tom Savage here. I just wanted to give some information about my radio silence and upcoming projects.
Anathema is in production but is taking a slight more relaxed approach to issue #3. Not to say I am taking a vacation by any means. But, I am very excited to direct most of my work focus to my new fantasy based action role playing war game Grimoire Quest! (Pronounced Grim-war ).
The game revolves around an epic fantasy war between 3-6 Wizards (players) all in a battle to recover the 10 missing pages of the Master Grimoire, the world's most powerful spell book. There are two ways to win-Collect all the pages of the Grimoire, or kill all the other players and stand unchallenged. It is turned based attack game with a simple narrative value. Each round can change by the random events read in the narrative. There are many clever attacks and defenses, (you can even resurrect defeated Wizards as your zombie slave to attack remaining players! FUN! )
The base deck at this time consist of 300 cards, all hand illustrated uniquely by yours truly.
Over the next month I will continue working on the illustrations and hosting beta test games with the intent of a Kickstarter campaign early spring to allow pre-orders and production. Stretch goals will include expansion packs, an official decorative playing board and more.
Make sure you follow my page for Grimoire Quest on Facebook at
Also I am in the waiting wings for a future licensed project for a galaxy far far away and beyond. Keep your fingers crossed.
Hi folks! So Anathema #2 finally went to the printer this week. Kickstarter rewards should be all out early August.
But, I'm not sitting on my butt waiting. That's right. Issue #3 is already under production! I cant wait to show you the new characters and to continue this epic story line.
Here is a sneak peak of one of the new characters being introduced in #3 this fall! (Late September goal release date)
Remember you can also read the first two issues RIGHT HERE!
Hi folk, just wanted to take a minute to update anyone on the status of The Anathema #2. Ks funds were received and production is begging soon with first orders being shipped early June.
I have been in the middle of a big moving trip in the middle of the comic con season so I have worn myself pretty thin I'll tell ya. Looking forward to taking a brief break in June.
After that I will be working tirelessly for the next few years on a massive collection of horror themed art work for a book I plan to publish in 2018. I will continue to work daily on The Anathema as well. ( no I'm not crazy.)
horror, fantasy, and mythology and just general art lovers will love this book collection, I guarantee it.
Talk to you soon!
if you missed your chance to pre-order anathema via kickstarter, hurry over to my webstore! it is not too late!
Only 24 hours out and we are already over 20% to our production cost goal! Please share and follow closely. New art will be posted daily
Here it is! the official Kickstarter campaign for issue #2 of the Anathema. I am keeping things simpler this time around. I have a bare bones goal just to raise enough for the print costs. anything after that will be fun stretch goals like upgrades, alternative covers etc. Remember this is not charity or pan handling. These are just to cut out middle men who would otherwise take huge sums of money from creators like myself. This way the production cost is covered by early sales. You are essentially pre-ordering the book via this process.
So thank you all and I cant wait to put the next issue in your hands. I love where this book is taking me. I hope you do too.
Hey folks, so much has been going on. Let me recap. Here are some new work samples and the last commissions of the winter/spring season. I will be launching the Kickstarter for Anathema issue #2 on Friday ! ( No April Fools!) I will be spending the rest of the month rapidly finishing the issue for print. I recently finished my submission for the Fantasy Illustration Library vol. 2 Gods and Goddesses. ( below) I also completed a special commission for a friend who owns the now famous Darth Knight medieval armor. (below) and Marilyn Ghigliotti ( Clerks fame) and I raised over $200 for St. Jude Children's Research by auctioning the portrait of her on eBay! Woo hoo. I had a successful run at Chicago's C2E2 comic con, next big show is Indianapolis Comic Con and Motor City Comic!
BIG ANNOUNCEMENT ( ...2 years from now...)
Ever wanted to learn to do what I do? Now you will be able to!
Tentative date Spring 2018 I will be opening my own art classes and studio! More details coming.
