So in the interest in simplifying my life I am merging and purging all my social media accounts and sub accounts for Grimoire Quest, Anathema and the Art of Tom Savage under the official LLC Tom Savage Studios brand. that means I will be creating a single market for all of my work under one umbrella. I have children's books, comic, and more board games that are all going to be marketed under the brand Savage Studios LLC.
With that will come new video workshops, apparel, posters, prints, books, and much much more.
It's time to see what I can do if I self sustain myself with my work. ( no I'm not quitting my jobs, I'm not crazy ) but this will make it easier for me to effectively market my work in once place so that I can put more time into making new work.
Check back this weekend for the new branding!
What a year! 2017 was a bit crazy. I got married, Grimoire Quest was completed, funded and arrived.
So what is in store for 2018-2019? A LOT!
First I am working on a new board game. This will potentially feature a collaboration with a VERY iconic artist. Someone who was a big influence on myself. I can't disclose more right now thought.
So for now, I am finishing up the last of the Kickstarter rewards for backers and making shipping arrangements for the overseas supporters then I will be taking a couple week break to do some spring cleaning. Speaking of spring cleaning- Anathema #2 is SOLD OUT.
I will be ordering a small second print edition for those who missed out, but that also means I really need to dedicate some time to issue #3.
Paintings, paintings, paintings! I have a lot of new work coming out this summer. I am doing a massive update to my portfolio and submitting more work to official license holders.
Expect to see pieces for Labyrinth, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Evil Dead, and more!
For now here are my two most recent submissions.
Legacy: A Tribute to Carrie (30x40 acrylic on illustration board)
Luke Skywalker A Jedi's Journey. (20x30 acrylic on illustration board)
Hi Folks, I put together a video blog to give you an update on the shipping and delivery of Grimoire Quest as well as some close ups of the full game art work!
If you don't want to sit through the video the basic of the information is this:
-The game will not arrive before Christmas, sadly.
-It will arrive in the states sometimes in early January
-Due to the crammed schedule of January fulfillment will begin late January/early February.
-I have started creating the custom sketches for backers!
-Also not mentioned in the video, The art book will be shipping separately in most cases and is expected in the Spring due to a financial limitation in the interest of a better quality product than initially expected.
Good day travelers and villains! I know I know, its been far too long since I have updated my blog and news feed. I am really going to try and make a change about that. So let me catch you up on the last couple of months. Last night I returned from Cincinnati Comic Expo wrapping up my 2017 year of comic and media conventions. It was a lighter year of shows but all successful. Lighter because I have been working to the bone creating new work. Mainly my tabletop fantasy card game, Grimoire Quest!
Yes, it is almost here! The game was successfully funded on Kickstarter in August and I have worked every waking minute to wrap up essential pre-production rewards ( game cameos etc). Now I am waiting for the first proof sample from my manufacturer in Shanghai. At this time pre-orders for the game are now open! If you missed out on the Kickstarter there are a handful of great rewards still being offered for late pledge backers. Just visit this link to visit my campaign manager account and order your copy of the game today!
I will be posting more work soon, I have a few things to wrap up before my wedding to my best friend and love of my life Elizabeth in November. After that I will be completing long over due work for a friends children's books. Then I will be taking a break for the holidays and preparing for my biggest year of my career! 2018 I will be attending a record amount of shows and conventions including gaming conventions. During the spring I will be creating a handful of new paintings and illustrations before creating two new big projects. An amusing series of "Adult" satire children's books and I will begin steps to my next board game idea! Periodically I will be creating expansion card decks for Grimoire Quest as well. Woo that's starting to sound overwhelming already! But, hey what about The Anathema right? Let me explain a little bit about my 5 year plan right now. I am creating a lot of these other projects right now in the hopes that they will bring enough new revenue into my budget that I can hire other artist to help work on The Anathema. Anathema is a big story and requires a whole lot of time from just one person. And unfortunately as a solo operation I can't keep up with the work and take the hit financially since the time it would take to promote it, and keep the pages flowing just does not balance well. But it is a story I think will pay off in the long run so I am not walking away form it, I never could. I'm hopeful these new projects will help fund the necessary assistance that I will require to give it the proper audience I feel that it deserves.
For now I really hope you will enjoy playing Grimoire Quest! The game features over 300 illustrations by yours truly! There is also a art gallery coffee table book companion to the game available soon!

Please, take a minute to check out the new campaign for my board game creation Grimoire Quest. We are already 95% funded!
Happy April! So much happened in March let me run through it fast. I finished Grimoire Quest game structure finally. I went through several tests and tweaks to make it as fun as possible and I created a LOT of illustrations for the cards. I am waiting for the final beta deck to ship and a final test and then I will launch the Kickstarter campaign to manufacture the product. As a reward to myself I took last weekend to practice up my painting skills again after my brushes were literally collecting dust. I present to you my latest piece Yoda! It is a blend of the two main styles I have focused on over the last years Acrylic and watercolor wash.
If I'm completely honest the look and feel I am hoping to achieve is not quite there in this pieces. but I know what I want to change to get there in the future. Keep and eye out for another piece I will be completing for Motor City Comic Con in May. That's all for now. I have a lot of work to catch up on today and this week. Catch me next week in Indianapolis for Indiana Comic Con! I cant wait. Should be a great show.
